Poland vs Senegal: 1-2

It was a nightmarish game for Poland in short.           Poland who was favorites again faltered horribly and were never in the game right from start. Senegal were brilliant in attack right from the beginning and scared the polish defenders frequently. At 37th Minute Cionek of Poland deflects Gueye effort only to score a own goal making it 1-0 for Senegal. The same story continues and the first half score was 1-0. Even in Second half Poland were not impressive as they kept losing possession. At 60t minute Bednarek and Szczesny commit blunder gifting the ball to niang just to make it 2-0 for Senegal. At 86th minute Poland gets a consolation with Krychowiak heading the goal making it 2-1 which seemed too late for Poland. At the end the score line was 2-1 senegal win.

Krychowiak (POL) – 86’

Review:
Overall this was the only group where none of the results came in as expected. Colombia and Poland were favorites to win but opposite happened. Though the opposite of expected happened but the results were actually convincing wins for Japan and Senegal. I don’t see both teams failing from here and its mammoth task for Colombia and Poland.
